OpenJDK is the industry standard for open-source runtime for Java. Over the years, Intel has been contributing to the development of OpenJDK and adding optimizations and accelerations for vectorization, math, string/array, compression, and encryption. OpenJDK also has new APIs for persistent memory and Intel hardware. This presentation helps a Java developer understand the basics of Intel processors in the cloud and how to choose the right version of OpenJDK to get the best performance for their application.
